Melissa Hovanes

Melissa Hovanes is a Seattle-based filmmaker, making her directorial debut with Prime Time: A Rapper Battles t he Machine. After a successful career in software development, she obtained her master’s in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School on a scholarship from the Knight Foundation. Growing up in the Deep South, Melissa developed a passion for social justice and storytelling. Her objective in filmmaking is to start conversations and affect change.

Holly Barker

Producer

Holly is an attorney and documentary filmmaker. She recently earned her master’s in journalism, specializing in video and broadcast, from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She lives in D.C. with her family.

Isabel Miller-Bottome

Producer

Isabel is a writer and documentary producer. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Medill, and now lives in her native San Francisco where she works as a Content Designer at Facebook.
